The solitude of winter is celebrated in this work, as it presents a farm situated in the the middle of a vast snow-covered landscape.

The air is cold and still, trees are barren, and there is not a soul in sight.

The artist has used a restrained palette comprising of shades of grey, white and unique touch of yellow; and together with the use of soft and light brushstrokes, it evokes an overall sense of visual calm and stillness in the painting.

This oil on board painted in 1969 is housed in a beautiful wooden frame with an inner gilt window and linen lining.

Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
