Workshop: How to Photograph and Pack Your Artwork

On the 8th of May (Thursday), our co-founder Saira is giving a workshop on how to photograph and pack up artwork so that artist’s can widen their market beyond in-person exhibitions and fairs. If this is of any interest to you, tickets are available via this Eventbrite page.

This workshop has been organised in conjunction with Thornbury Art Club and is open to the public.

Description of the event:

Join us for a practical and informative evening designed to help you photograph your artwork professionally using your phone or tablet, and pack it safely for posting.

Led by Saira Kalimuddin, co-founder of The Discerning Palette—one of the largest online galleries in the South West

Part One: Photographing Artwork Using Your Phone or Tablet
This session will teach you how to take clear, well-lit images of your work using your mobile devices. Whether you’re sharing on social media, submitting to exhibitions, or selling online, this skill is essential for presenting your art at its best.

Part Two: Packing Artwork for Postage
Learn simple and effective ways to protect your art in transit, whether it’s framed, mounted, or on paper. We’ll walk through materials, techniques, and tips to make sure your artwork arrives safely and beautifully.

What to Bring: Please bring the phone and/or tablet you’ll be using to photograph your artwork.

Also do feel free to bring one of your own pieces of artwork to practice on. Not too big, A3 and smaller, and with no glass. Also to bring a small table cloth, plain, no pattern, light coloured.

Tickets available here.
