A very calming and restful mid century coastal composition in oil, painted onto board.

Using soft, subtle colours for most of the composition, this soothing coastal landscape depicts a sandy beach with a wooded landscape to the right and blue waters to the left. A green bush to the right punctuates the composition and gives our eyes a focal point to rest on. Two white lines that indicate a path lead our eyes far into the distance, giving us a wonderful sense of the expansiveness of the coastalscape, transporting our minds far away to this restful place.  Long, expressive brushwork creates this well balanced composition which has been cleverly split into two angled halves.

The painting is housed a beautiful wide profile gilt frame. The painting is in excellent vintage condition. The painting has some very minor scuffing which does not detract from its overall attractiveness.
