A picturesque and panoramic view of a rural landscape, complete with cows, mountains and a lake.  A patchwork of green and golden fields rolls towards the pink and blue mountain. The cool palette with which the artist has painted the mountains communicates its solid physical hardness against the softer, warmer colours of the fields. The way in which the landscape has been formed, with its planes of colours,  rich earthy palette and bold outlines is reminiscent of works by the modernist painter Cézanne.

The painting is housed in a robust and deep wood frame that has been painted with a beautiful green tint. Both painting and frame are in good vintage condition. The frame has some scuffs to its edges, commensurate for its mid century age.
