A large and visually pleasing semi-abstract coastal landscape composition, executed in oil.
Long horizontal brushstrokes that have been executed in a rhythmic manner fill the canvas, adding an overall soothing effect to the painting. The artist has skilfully reduced what appears to be a coastal sea view and terrain down to planes of contrasting shades of blue, purple, green and brown that harmonise and blend effortlessly into each other.
This very well executed painting is housed in its original mid century gilt frame with an inner linen lined border. The painting is in very good condition. There are some age spots present to the frame, particularly on the linen.
