A fun and whimsical mid century landscape composition, painted in oil onto board.

In this uplifting composition, we see white farm houses nestled within rolling fields.  In this picture the only hard angles that can be found are the houses, whereas everything else is made up of soft rounded shapes, this includes the trees and bushes surrounding the houses, and the clouds in the sky that have been painted as little puffy balls of white.

There is a playful and whimsical quality to this painting, both in its colour palette as well as the artist’s exploration of pattern and shapes.

This oil on board is housed in a well-suited painted wood frame. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has a surface mark on its left inner border as shown in the close up.
