This framed composition depicts an evening scene of figure walking down a lane towards white fronted house. The artist has used angular lines and flat planes of colour in a restrained palette. The artist has left out realistic details, focussing instead on the lines and forms of pictured scene. The painting features a very skilful balance of forms, and layering and blending of colour. It has a sense of nostalgia to it that is very charming.

It is housed in its original mid century frame with gilt borders. The painting has some tiny spots of surface paint loss, but these spots are not obvious unless inspected closely. We have included close ups of these areas. The paint layer is stable overall. The frame is also in very good vintage condition.
