A very well executed mid century still life in oil, painted onto board. The artist has used a restrained palette of dark and light brown and nude tones to effectively depict a sense of space  and depth. He/she has also skilfully captured the texture, age, and tactility of the earthenware through the use of finely applied brushwork and contrasting colours in a matte finish.

This gorgeous still life is housed in an elegant gilt frame, which suits it perfectly and brings out its copper and rust tones. Both painting and frame are in very good vintage condition.
