A small yet very striking modernist street scene composition, executed in oil onto board.

The painting depicts a bustling scene in a city with a tram stopping on the left, figures lining a street walk on the right, and a building motif situated in the background of the painting.

The artist has uniquely highlighted the silhouettes of the tram, building and figures with a thin orange outline, further emphasising their respective forms.

The painting is characterised by a beautiful rich palette comprising shades of blue, orange and white, as well as expressive and lightly textured brushstrokes that reflect the uplifting energy of the city.

This oil on board is housed in a stunning deep-profiled frame that pairs wonderfully with the painting. There are very minor scuffs to the frame in keeping with age. The painting is in excellent vintage condition.
