An absolutely delightful mid century oil by Swedish artist Ivar Morsing, painted on to canvas. This seemingly simple yet very effective composition depicts figures on a beach. The artist has left out all realistic detail, using gentle yet expressive brushwork to capture the figures. There is a softness, and a tender-heartedness to the way he has captured the scene. Despite the use of the very minimalist palette, the artist has very skilfully imbued the painting with a luminosity, which is further enhanced by the gilt frame that surrounds it.

Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
