A lovely mid century oil painting depicting of a group of people gathering together in the town, and executed in a semi-abstract manner.
The artist has chosen a pastel colour palette comprising shades of blue, green and yellow, imbuing the work with a sense of calm.
Pictorial details have been blurred and a suffused glow washes over the picture, eliminating visual clarity. However, we are still able to discern figures in black congregating in the distance of this townscape filed with monuments; which gives this painting its compositional depth.
This oil on canvas is in excellent vintage condition. Is housed in a complementary silver frame with a linen lining, that suits the painting perfectly. There is a small area of surface paint loss to the frame, commensurate with its age (shown in photos).
