A large, beautiful and subtle abstract figurative composition, executed in oil onto canvas.
Abstract in nature, the forms in the composition are not clearly defined but our interpretation discerns a standing male figure embracing a female figure.
The artist has worked with a subdued and muted colour palette that instils a soothing quality to the painting. There is a beautiful transition from darker shades of blue and grey to lighter shades of cream and grey. Distinct energetic brushstrokes fill the canvas, adding an expressive effect and a wonderful textural quality to the painting.
This oil on canvas is housed in a slim wood frame. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has some light scuffing.
