An absolutely stunning oil depicting two figures walking through vast landscape. Scale here has been stretched to its utmost, with the human figures so small it is easy to miss them. The vast landscape is what fills most of this painting, reminding us humans of our position in the universe. We are but a speck. We feel a calming sense of awe when looking at this piece – its focus on nature emphasises its separateness and indifference to our humanly desires and concerns.

This mid century painting is appropriately housed in a wide off white wood frame with gilt detailing. The painting is in excellent condition. The frame is very stable and in good condition overall but has some minor bumps (refer to photos), but these do not detract from the painting.
