A very large and beautiful mid century modernist cityscape, painted in oil onto canvas.

Working with a restrained colour palette comprising shades of black, white and cream, this cityscape features rows of tall buildings under a clear blue sky.

The painting has a drawing quality to it, as the artist displays his mastery in the medium of oil by skilfully using artistic techniques of shading, sketching and shadowing. Its overall tonal colour scheme and various strengths of shading demonstrate depth and interest to this stunning painting.

This oil on canvas is housed in a ridged champagne frame with a inner linen lined border, that suits the painting very well. There is some very light craquelure to the top edge of the painting (as shown in close ups), otherwise both the painting and frame are in very good vintage condition.
