A large modernist style painting depicting a delightful and intriguing interior setting of an artist’s studio, executed in oil onto canvas.
This well-detailed composition presents a studio where an artist seated on a green chair is back-facing the viewer, and is engaged in painting a portrait on a canvas placed atop an easel. A myriad of details can be found that includes a couple of paintings hung on the walls as well as placed on the floor, a bust sitting atop a pedestal, as well as a brown table filled with objects.
Executed with expressive brushstrokes, the muted colours of the painting imbue a comforting sense of warmth.
This oil on canvas is housed in a very well suited wooden frame with linen border. The frame has some very minor wear, but overall both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
