A moody, striking mid century landscape in oil, painted onto board. Painted in an expressive manner, we see broad and rhythmic brushstrokes applied to the surface to create this landscape scene. A loose flurry of brushstrokes to the upper half of the composition suggest temperamental overcast skies above – a storm beckons.  The artist has used a restrained palette and has left details of the landscape fairly obscure, which has resulted in this largely abstract composition.

The painting is housed in a silver frame with visible wood grain, and both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
