Laid out on a tabletop is a yellow earthen clay water jug, a copper kettle, a glass water bottle, 3 fruits, a slice of bread, and a teacup filled with tea and placed on a saucer.
Fine and detailed brushstrokes have been used to paint the objects so meticulously; and despite being laid out so smoothly on the canvas, one is still able to get a sense of the roundness and three dimensionality of the objects.
The objects are placed against a monochrome grey background that further enhances their colours, allowing it to stand out more.
The painting is housed in a robust frame, and is in excellent vintage condition. There are scattered areas of paint loss to the edges of the frame, but the uniformity of the losses have made us think this could be intentional, giving the frame that vintage ‘distressed’ effect.
