A beautifully executed and framed mid century landscape scene, painted in oil on to canvas.

The artist has mastered his medium (oil), applying layers of colour that are luminous and fluid.  There is a distinct sense of playfulness here, where non naturalistic colours have given the landscape scene life, vibrancy and expression. We are able to analyse the application of the paint, layer by layer, giving us a glimpse into the artist’s process.

The painting is very uniquely framed in its original mid century frame, which has a lovely wide profile. The outer and inner gilt windows are separated by a beautiful deep blue fabric lined border. The frame complements the painting wonderfully and really makes it stand out.

The painting is in excellent vintage condition. There are some very minor scuffs to the frame, but it does not detract from the attractiveness of the painting.
