A striking and wonderfully textured mid century abstract mixed media on canvas.

Here the artist has used oil paint mixed with an aggregate to create a sand like texture on the surface of the painting, which has added another layer of depth to the work. The artist has applied large swathes of colour in an expressive manner. We can imagine his brush dancing across the surface of the canvas as it makes its long and gestural marks. The beauty of the abstract nature of this composition is that it can bring to mind several different things depending on the viewer and their experiences, and for us it evokes memories around cliffs and the oceans.

The painting is housed in a thin wood frame. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
