A quintessentially mid century abstract modernist Scandinavian oil composition, painted onto board.

The artist has used a simple yet very effective and rigorous grid composition, where black lines are set against thicker vertical lines in mustard and outlined in blue, over a background of off-white. This geometric grid composition is reminiscent of modernist artists like Piet Mondrian, who also created patterns with syncopated rhythms.

The painting is housed in a very complementary maroon wood frame, that really completes the piece. There are some areas of restoration to the painting, and there are areas of scuffing and paint loss to the frame, as shown in photos.
