A bold and expressive abstract expressionist Swedish oil on canvas, painted in 1962. A rich range of earthy colours have been applied to the canvas in an expressive, painterly manner – a reflection of the artist’s confidence with the medium of oil. The dynamic brushwork imbue the painting with a distinct energy, rhythm and and movement. Although largely abstract, the painting could be interpreted to be an allusion to volatile skies before a storm.
The painting is housed in a robust mid century wood frame with an inner black and cream border, which suits the painting very well. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
