A really elegant still life painted in oil with a beautifully balanced composition and vivid colouring. The artist has used his or her palette skilfully, with the scarlet red fabric setting off the midnight blue bowl wonderfully and vice versa. The artist has managed to capture the reflectiveness of the blue bowl, while at the same time creating a rhythm within the painting through the use of objects of varying heights.
The painting is housed in a lovely gilt frame with an inner fabric lined border that suits the painting very well. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
