A large mid century oil on canvas, painted in a distinctly modernist style. The artist has painted a broad, panoramic view of the rooftops of a coastal town, with the view of the sea in the distance. Flat planes of colour in broad and distinct brushstrokes have been juxtaposed one next to the other, creating a sense of space and depth within the picture, leading our eyes from the foreground (the roofs) to the background (the sea). This has also created a geometric effect which gives the painting an element of abstraction.

The painting is housed in its original mid century frame, which has a very wide profile. The inner section has been lined with a grey fabric. Both painting and frame are in good vintage condition.
