A very large and outstanding modernist landscape painting, executed in oil onto canvas and dated 1949.
In this delightful landscape composition, tall and slender trees are presented in an open forest, growing on rainbow-coloured fields where the respective colours transition from one to the next so harmoniously.
The painting exudes an uplifting and soothing feel, brought forth through the use of soft and gentle brushstrokes as well as a lively colour palette.
This oil on canvas is housed in a stunning wide-profiled ridged frame with gilt and grey windows, that suits the painting very well. The painting is in excellent vintage condition. The frame has some paint losses, as shown in photos.
