A pleasant and well-executed mid 20th century still life in oil, depicting a group of objects on a table including a glass of purple flowers, a plate, and apples.

This painting emphasises the beauty of still life, where a group of everyday objects that are normally ignored are placed centre stage, forcing us to look and notice their shape, form and colour. Here the artist has juxtaposed contrasting colours to create a sense of depth and space. The broad and expressive brushstrokes add an element of tactility to the painting as well. Overall, there is a wonderful luminous and diaphanous quality to the painting.

The painting is housed in its original mid century frame with a cream coloured linen border. Both painting and frame are in good vintage condition.
