A brilliantly executed mid-century still life painting in tempera, painted by the established Swedish artist Eric Cederberg (1897-1984), whose artworks have been represented in several public and museum collections across Sweden.

In this excellent composition, three pears sit in a bright blue bowl atop  a red table and set against a brown dotted backdrop

Inviting viewers to revel in the simple beauty of everyday objects, the artist masterfully captures the essence of realism through his meticulous brushwork and keen attention to detail.

The use of rich tempera hues lends depth and warmth to the scene. Every brushstroke is executed with precision, especially the intricacy of the surfaces, contributing to the overall illusion of depth and form.

This tempera on board is housed in a well-suited wood frame with an inner gilt window. The painting has some light surface marks which are not at all obvious in real life, and the frame has very minor scuffs. Please note that there is some glare evident in the photos, due to the glossy surface of the painting.
