In this quiet and expansive pasture landscape scene, a cottage punctuates the centre of the composition. Through the use of a muted colour palette as well as lightly textured swift brushstrokes, the painting demonstrates a subtle dance between colours, as planes of contrasting shades harmonise wonderfully and have been used to create a strong sense of depth and width to the painting.
This oil on board is housed in its original mid-century gilt frame with an inner linen lining. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
