This work is certainly a visual pleasure to the eye. The short, swift and energetic brushstrokes are beautifully textured – giving the painting a sense of three dimensionality and invigorating it with much liveliness.

Furthermore, the artist demonstrates a deep understanding of the relationship of colours. Not only has he been able to effortlessly mix and layer colours as they harmonise so well together; but he has also been able to displayed a strong sense of depth in the painting through the use of contrasting shades.

This oil on board is in excellent vintage condition. It is well presented in a wooden frame, with an inner white and gilt  mount that further accentuates its beauty.
