This lovely semi abstract depiction of a limestone quarry features a gentle palette, expressive yet soft brushwork, and an emphasis on form and line. We are able to discern the reflection in the water of the quarry lake, which the artist has very skilfully captured in the most subtle, delicate way. There is a wonderful softness and diaphanous quality to this painting which makes it very unique.
It is housed in an oak frame with a inner cream coloured window, which suits the painting perfectly. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
