This richly coloured composition presents 2 figures, a bride and a groom, walking down a street lined with buildings. Beside them, a street lamp is shining brightly.

Post-impressionist in style, there is a strong emphasis on bold colours and distinctive brushstrokes. These elements wonderfully covey the emotions of love and happiness of the couple whom presumably just got married.

The artist has used a vivid and non-naturalistic colour palette including shades of blue, orange and green that imbue the painting with a liveliness, and the swift and bold brushstrokes add a dynamic touch and an expressive effect in the painting. .

The oil on board is housed in its original mid century gilt frame with a linen lined border. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
