A small but brilliantly executed abstract cityscape in oil of the city of Jerez in Southern Spain, by Swedish artist Ivar Morsing, painted in 1958. A deep, rich and earthy palette of browns, dark greys and greens give this picture its punch. Contrasting blocks of saturated colour have been applied to the surface, illustrating the artist’s cubist influences, which he is most known for. This gorgeous semi-abstract painting in oil would certainly stand out in any interior, whether traditional or modern.

The painting is housed in its original mid century greyish-brown wood frame with an inner fabric lined window. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
