A timeless and subtle vintage oil portrait of a nude, executed onto board and dated 1943.

The painting depicts a woman seated on a raised brown platform. With her hands placed behind her, it almost seems as though she is balancing herself on it.

Although her facial features are not discernibly painted, there is a sense that she is deep in thought.

This classic oil portrait features painterly and expressive brushstrokes that have been thoughtfully executed. The artist has used a soft and restrained muted palette that reflects the calm, tender mood of the setting.

This oil on board is housed in a distressed frame with a moulded inner border , and the colours pair wonderfully with the painting. The painting has a small area of paint loss to the lower left section  by the figure’s hand (as shown in close ups), but the painting and frame are in very good condition otherwise.
