A large and striking oil still life of a well decorated interior setting, painted in 1959 onto canvas.

Placed atop a wooden surface sit a large jar of white flowers in bloom, as well as a red table runner.

The artist displays his painterly skills and fine brushwork, capturing the intricate detailing of each object as well as their three-dimensional feel very realistically.

A selection of vibrant colours including pink, yellow, green and brown have been used, and the way the contrasting shades have been layered in the background is absolutely stunning.

This oil on canvas is housed in its original mid century gilt and wood frame with a linen lining. The painting is in excellent vintage condition. The frame has some age toning and wear to the bottom section. There is a slight widening to the joints of the inner section of the frame.
