A very large and brilliantly executed mid century cubist composition in oil, painted in 1957 by well known artist Ivar Morsing.
In typical Morsing style, he has chosen to focus on formal qualities of line, shape, form and colour. He creates beautiful harmony on the canvas, applying contrasting blocks of saturated colour to the surface, illustrating his cubist influences which he is most known for. Strong, rich, and vivid colours of orange, red and white are set against a sky blue. The chosen palette and the was he has placed the complementary colours gives each shade and tone its own prominence.
This stunning oil on board is housed in its original mid century wood frame with an inner linen lining. The painting is in very good vintage condition, and there are some age spots and scuffs on the frame.
