A tranquil and visually calming mid century modernist landscape composition, painted in oil onto board.

Realistic details have intentionally been left out, as the artist reconstructs this nature landscape in a semi-abstract manner through the used of soft colours, flattened forms and expressive brushstrokes. The artist has intentionally left some areas of the substrate showing through, allowing us to see the materiality of the canvas surface, further emphasising the modernist ethos behind his brush.

The painting is housed in its original mid century gilt frame which illuminates the painting wonderfully. There is some age toning to the left edge of the surface. Otherwise, the painting and frame are in good vintage condition.
