A striking mid century modernist still life in oil, painted in 1951.
This vivid and textured still life depicts a group of fruit, including a pineapple, orange and lemon, and a long white coffee pot, set on a table. Expressive and gestural brushwork in rich and saturate colours fill the canvas, creating areas of impasto (where the paint is applied very thickly) which add depth and interest to the painting. This painting would certainly add a pop of colour to space, and would be very well suited to a kitchen or dining area.
The painting is housed in really lovely light wood frame. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
