A beautiful and throughly well-executed expressionist style coastal scape depicting  a row of boats docked near the shore at sunrise, painted in oil and dated 1973.

The colours and brushstrokes in this painting are a visual feast for the eyes. Energetic and swift brushstrokes have been executed so confidently as they sweep across the canvas, adding a light layer of texture as well as a dynamic touch to the painting; and the vibrant colour palette including green, pink, and blue hues imbue the work with a lively and uplifting feel.

The artist shows off his painterly skills by not only managing to arrest motion and capture the atmospheric qualities of the sky, and also wonderfully captures the reflection of the colours from the boat and sky cast on the water’s surface.

This oil on canvas painting is in excellent vintage condition. It is housed in a gilt frame with red undertones. There are some surface marks and scuffs (as shown in the images) on the frame, however this does not detract from its overall attractiveness and is in line with its vintage charm.
