This picturesque composition presents an architectural view of a city spread across a hill. The artist has used hints of green to depict the trees spread across the hill, and this pop of colour contrasts beautifully against the calm and lighter shades of cream and beige used to paint the facades of the buildings and the hill. Overall, the painting has a very soothing quality.
This oil on board is housed in a complementary painted frame with an outer green and inner mauve window. The painting has some scattered craquelure present but the paint layer is very stable. The frame has some light scuffing.
