The artist has used a palette knife to apply the paint, creating areas of impasto (where the paint is applied thickly such that it stands proud from the surface). The artist has worked the paint dynamically, using quick and successive strokes to create this expressive and tactile piece. A soothing palette of blues, greens, whites, with orange and yellow details, imbues this painting with a thoroughly calming effect, and makes one think of lake holidays in the summertime.
The oil on canvas is housed in a very complementary wood and gilt frame. It is in very good vintage condition.
