A large but very peaceful seascape, painted in oil onto canvas.
Masted ships are docked quietly by the quay. A sense of calm and serenity exudes from the painting, created by both the scene at hand as well as the soft sweeping brushstrokes in a restrained palette of mellow blues and browns.
This oil on canvas is housed in its original mid century frame which complements the colour palette of the painting perfectly. The painting is in excellent vintage condition. The frame has some minor scuffs but this is in keeping with its vintage style.
