A charming mid century modernist landscape composition in oil, painted onto canvas.
Featuring a rich and vivid colour palette in earthy tones, the composition depicts a view of a white walled barn, with the sun shining on its roof. To the right of the composition, a tree stands tall in the foreground, giving the painting a sense of balance. Strikingly, an orange door punctuates the centre of the composition, drawing our attention, and encouraging us to notice the sunlit field of green and yellow on which the barn sits.
Expressionist brushstrokes fill the canvas, giving it a light textural quality.
This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary wooden frame with linen border. The frame has a small nick that is not very noticeable to the lower bottom edge, as shown in close ups. Otherwise, both the painting and frame are in very good vintage condition.
