A very well-executed mid century coastal seascape composition, painted in oil onto canvas.

Executed in a semi-abstract manner, the painting presents an archipelago that contains a group of islands, and with boats docked by the water’s edge.

The subdued colours comprising muted pastel shades of blue, yellow and green harmonise wonderfully together, and the swift and expressive brushstrokes that have been confidently executed across the canvas add a touch of dynamism. The artist has also creatively used the back end of the paintbrush to highlight the white lines attached to the mast of the boats, adding a unique aesthetic to the painting.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary wooden frame with outer linen border. The linen border has some age toning and darkened areas to the corner. Overall, both painting and frame are in very good vintage condition.
