A large, expressive and serene panoramic view of a coastal scape, painted in oil onto canvas.
As our eyes shift from the top to the bottom of the painting, we can notice the colours intensifying – with lighter and calmer shades of blue and green filling the top half of the work, juxtaposed by rich and saturated colours in the bottom half. In addition to this, the brushstrokes similarly intensify – with softer sweeping stokes filling the top half, and short, swift and more textured brushstrokes at the bottom.
Overall, the painting exudes tranquillity and would make a statement piece in any interior with its large size.
This oil on canvas is housed in a wide profile gilt frame with an inner linen lining. There are very light and minor surface marks on the top half of the painting, but it is in good vintage condition overall.
