A large and expressive abstract composition, executed in oil onto canvas and dated 1960.
Although its subject matter appears to be entirely abstract, there is a sense that a hilly nature landscape with trees is the source of inspiration.
A dance of muted colours fill the canvas – with lighter shades of beige, pink and grey contrasting harmoniously against brighter shades of green and brown. The swift and expressive brushstrokes add a dynamic touch to the painting.
This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary wide profile frame with an outer linen border. The painting and frame are both in excellent vintage condition.
