This wonderfully executed oil painting depicts a moody street scene in Stockholm. The rain is clearing, and the sun is slowly coming out to shine before it sets in the evening. Cars and figures are depicted on the roads, passing by colourful buildings.

The brushstrokes and colour palette capture the melancholy poignantly in this 1950s painting. Expressive and multi-directional strokes in a blended palette of sombre colours create an intensity and texture that conveys the mood of the picture.

This oil on board is in very good vintage condition. It is housed in its original mid-century distressed wood frame that not only pairs perfectly with the painting but is also very in lined with its vintage feel.
